How the application works

01

Eligibility + EPC

We confirm CT band and EPC. Most homes built pre-1990 qualify.

02

Survey

Free home survey to determine which insulation measures fit (cavity wall, loft top-up, room-in-roof).

03

Funding application

We submit to participating supplier. Approval typically 2–3 weeks.

04

Install

1–3 days for cavity wall, 1 day for loft top-up.

Frequently asked

FAQs

Does GBIS cover solar?
No — GBIS funds insulation only. But fitting GBIS insulation FIRST often qualifies homes for ECO4 solar afterwards (an EPC E or D home becomes eligible for both).
How does GBIS differ from ECO4?
ECO4 is means-tested (benefits required) and covers everything including solar. GBIS is broader (Council Tax band based) but covers insulation only.
