The Challenge
A retired couple in a three-bedroom bungalow in Bolton were spending over £180/month on electricity and gas, with a significant portion going to water heating. They wanted to reduce costs on a fixed pension income without a large upfront investment.
Our Solution
We installed 8 x 415W solar panels on their east-west split roof, an EcoFlow PowerOcean 5kWh battery, and a Solar iBoost+ controller to divert excess solar energy directly to their hot water cylinder. The system was financed at £89/month over 10 years.

The Results
The couple now saves £987 per year. Hot water is heated for free from April to October, and the battery stores enough energy to cover their modest evening consumption. Their monthly finance payment of £89 is less than their previous electricity bill alone.
"We were nervous about the cost but the finance made it affordable. Our hot water is free most of the year and the electricity bills have dropped dramatically. We wish we had done it years ago."
