The two battery systems we install most are Tesla Powerwall 3 and EcoFlow PowerOcean. Both are excellent — but they suit different households. Here's how we advise.
## Capacity and scaling
- **Powerwall 3:** 13.5 kWh per unit, stackable to 3 units (40.5 kWh total)
- **PowerOcean:** 5 kWh modules, scalable from 5 to 45 kWh
PowerOcean wins on modular flexibility — add capacity over time. Powerwall wins on simplicity and single-unit capacity.
## Price
- **Powerwall 3 supplied + installed:** ~£9,500
- **PowerOcean 10kWh supplied + installed:** ~£7,800
## Warranty
Both come with 10-year warranties. Tesla guarantees 70% capacity retention at year 10; EcoFlow guarantees 60%.
## When to choose each
**Choose Powerwall 3 if:** you have a Tesla EV, want the best app experience, and value Storm Watch (mains outage protection).
**Choose PowerOcean if:** you want to start small and expand, prefer modular maintenance, or need a more competitive entry price.
